HOW-TO: Change your default browser
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to change your default browser on different operating systems:
Windows 10 & 11
- Open Settings:
- Click on the Start Menu and then on the Settings icon (it looks like a gear).
- Alternatively, you can press Windows + I to open the Settings directly.
- Go to Apps:
- In the Settings window, click on Apps.
- Default Apps:
- In the left-hand menu, click on Default apps.
- Web Browser:
- Scroll down to the Web browser section.
- Click on the current default browser. A list of installed browsers will appear.
- Select New Browser:
- Select the browser you want to set as the default from the list.
- Confirmation:
- You might be prompted to confirm your choice. If so, click Yes or OK.
macOS
- Open System Preferences:
- Click on the Apple Menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select System Preferences.
- Go to General:
- In the System Preferences window, click on General.
- Default Web Browser:
- Near the bottom of the General preferences, you will see Default web browser.
- Click on the dropdown menu and select your preferred browser from the list.

- Open Settings:
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Apps:
- Scroll down and tap on Apps or Apps & notifications.
- Default Apps:
- Tap on Default apps.
- Browser App:
- Tap on Browser app.
- Select your preferred browser from the list.
iOS (iPhone/iPad)
- Open Settings:

- Scroll to Find Your Browser:
- Scroll down to find the browser you want to set as default and tap on it.
- Default Browser App:
- Tap on Default Browser App.
