HOW-TO:Add Printer to Windows 11 Workstation
Depending on policy, this may require administrator access to your system.
To add a printer to a Windows 11 workstation, follow these steps:
Add a Printer Using Windows Settings:

Open Settings:

Press
Windows + I
to open the Settings app. -
Alternatively, you can click on the Start menu and select
Settings
.

Navigate to Devices:

In the Settings window, click on
Bluetooth & devices
from the left-hand sidebar.

Add a Printer or Scanner:

Click on
Printers & scanners
. -
Click the
Add device
button next to “Add a printer or scanner”.

Search for Printers:

Windows will start searching for available printers. Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your workstation, or connected via USB.

Select Your Printer:

Once your printer appears in the list, click on it and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Add a Printer Using Control Panel:

Open Control Panel:

to open the Run dialog box. -

Navigate to Devices and Printers:

In the Control Panel, click on
Hardware and Sound

Click on
Devices and Printers
.

Add a Printer:

at the top of the window. -
Windows will search for available printers. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.

Manually Add a Printer:

Open Printer Settings:

Add a Printer Using TCP/IP Address or Hostname:

Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname
and clickNext

Enter the printer’s IP address or hostname and click
Next

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Install Printer Drivers:

If Windows does not automatically install the printer drivers, you may need to download them from the printer manufacturer’s website.

Go to the manufacturer’s support page, find your printer model, download the appropriate drivers for Windows 11, and install them.
