Method 1: Using Services App
- Press Windows key + R to open Run dialog
- Type “services.msc” and press Enter
- Scroll down to find “Print Spooler”
- Right-click on “Print Spooler” and select “Start”
- To ensure it stays running, double-click it and set “Startup type” to “Automatic”
- Click “Apply” and “OK”
Method 2: Using Command Prompt (Admin)
- Right-click Start button or press Windows key + X
- Select “Windows Terminal (Admin)”
- Type the following command and press Enter: net start spooler
Method 3: Using PowerShell (Admin)
- Right-click Start button or press Windows key + X
- Select “Windows Terminal (Admin)”
- Type the following command and press Enter: Start-Service -Name Spooler
Troubleshooting Tips:
- If the service won’t start, try restarting your computer
- Check if there are any pending Windows updates
- Ensure your user account has administrative privileges
- Verify that the Print Spooler service dependencies are running
